Default Westcliff Colorado Soaring Operation

Does anyone have information on the glider port near Westcliffe Colorado?
I could not find it on the SSA places to fly list.
Thanks!

Nothing currently operating there. Occasional camps.

Lake Creek Glider Port still shows up on the sectionals,
but is now irrigated with a pivot and has deep furrows
from the wheels. Ed Thorton ran that operation and
also flew a borrowed 1-26 from it to a landing at Salt
Lake International Airport. Anyone know what he is
up to these days?

Randy Kempf has a SGU 2-22CK based there and has a Super Cub to tow it. He runs
the FBO when he isn't out flying a Airbus for a living. Great guy..used to work
at Estrella in the 70's as a tow pilot and instructor.

Do you know if he will he tow others? I'm getting real tired of
trailering to Boulder from Salida (Westcliffe is a 45 minute drive).

Thanks,
Shawn
