Default JSOW-C1 IR Seeker Tracks Moving Targets At Sea

See:

http://www.defense-update.com/newsca...s2805_jsow.htm

Something like this might be stealthier than Harpoon, but it's still
a glide weapon, so it wouldn't have as much range as the Harpoon
when launched at low altitude.

I imagine it might have value in picking off naval targets hiding
amidst
civilian shipping, but Maverick, SLAM-ER and laser-guided bombs
can do that too.

What niche is this weapon supposed to fill?
