150HP Grumman Super Yankee FS Price Reduced!
Greetings rec.aviation groups, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
I am still in need of selling my Super Yankee, and although I have had more than 50 inquiries nobody has actually laid down the money to buy it. I truly wish I didn't need to let it go, however I must do so. The price had been listed at $26,000 firm, which is several thousand under the real value of the aircraft. To make it even more attractive, and specifically to eliminate the tire kickers taking any more of my time, I will reduce the price now to $24,000 cash firm firm for a quick sale. For the price of an average 108HP AA-1, you can have a well above average 150 HP AA-1 with less than 400 SMOH, a fresh annual inspection, several upgrades and enhancements, and turn-key reliable. Delivery within 300 miles of Los Angeles is included in the price. Full details of the airplane can be found in my previous posts to this group. It was IFR certified once, and can easily be IFR certified again. Because of the extremely large percentage of tire-kickers and non-serious inquiries thus far, I MUST screen out the wheat from the chaff to minimize the time that is wasted. One exterior photo and one brief e-mail is all I will send out, until a potential buyer has contacted me by telephone and convinced me that they are serious enough to warrant more. Interested parties must COUNT on taking the time to see the airplane BEFORE asking me to send logbook copies, fingerprints, hair samples, oil samples, lists of equipment, serial numbers, tire inflation pressure, and any detailed info or paperwork requests. Chain of title paperwork inquiries, title searches, logbook inspections, pre-buy inspection deals, verification of electrolyte level in the battery, and every other conceivable detail will only be discussed here in my hangar face to face after we've agreed that we pretty much will have a sale. Sincerely sorry for my attitude on this, but you can thank all the time wasters and wannabees who burned up weeks of my time. If you are serious, if you have the money in hand, and if you have ALREADY secured permission from: your wife/partner/psychic/guru/bank/loan shark/Elvis , and if you do NOT have to wait for: your kids to graduate/your Viagra to kick in/your commission check/your retirement check/your lottery winnings then you are welcome to call me at home, 818-990-2748 and we can discuss this in greater detail. DO NOT use the e-mail link listed on this group to contact me!!! Use auster5 (at) earthlink (dot)net . Offhanded e-mails saying only "please send photos and info" will not be treated as serious inquiries, and I'll simply re-direct you to read this post again. Sorry AGAIN for the "attitude", but some of you have experience with selling airplanes and dealing with tire kickers like I have! Bill Berle Sherman Oaks, CA |

If you're serious about selling and don't want to waste your time, then you would do well you establish a webpage with all the specs you don't want to give out to each and every caller. I had a friend do that and he listed every major part that was replaced and times on them, i.e. clutch replacement, mag replacement, overhaul, etc. You get the point. So from that page you could see pics and get every spec you'd want. He sold the plane very quickly that way and didn't have to deal with tire kickers. What you have to understand is that a buyer wants to know if it's worth his time to travel that far to check it out, if you won't provide the information to convince the buyer to travel then you won't sell and it'll be just another tire kicker, when it could have been a sale. Do the webpage, it'll save you time. |

Hire a broker or sell it wholesale. If doing the "marketing thing" bothers
you this much and/or you're as bad at it as your post suggests, then pay someone else to do it. Life's too short. - Mark |
