Default Changing transponder light

The transmit light has gone out on my King transponder. I know the
transponder is working alright because ATC reads it just fine. Before
I pay an exorbitant amount to an avionics shop for a new bulb, is this
bulb something I can easily find and change myself? (have to admit I
didn't have time to inspect it closely after I landed so this might be
obvious when I get out to the airport this weekend)

Thanks,
Eric Bartsch

For somebody familiar with the procedure, even heart transplant surgery is
routine.

Eric, only a properly rated avionics repair station can open up the
unit and change the light. It may seem simple enough however to seal
the unit is a different story. I would recommend taking it to the
shop for replacement and let the paid techs handle this for you.

I think I paid $20 to have mine replaced as part of the IFR cert.

Thanks, that's the information I was looking for. I didn't see any way
to get at the bulb easily from the front of the unit.
