Default MS FS 2002 Pro - scenery accuracy and the VFR UK scenery

The problem with the supplied scenery is the discrepancy in locations when
using the VFR UK Scenery, so if the default scenery remains enabled it can
be ridiculous - for example, the Houses of Parliament in the River Thames
(hmmm - not a bad idea! ;-) ).

Am wondering if there's a patch to correct this, or is it just a coord
rounding error? The airports are incorrectly placed also and can't be turned
off, quite annoying.

Also, I know of the free Flying Eye scenery, but haven't located other
third-party London scenery for 2002 (not airports), any free sources?

Regards
Gary

The Visual Flight web site has a scenery pack available for VFR Volume 1
customers who want some of the landmarks as 3D scenery. Not only does it
re-enable those landmarks but it puts them in the right place. Have a look
at URL:http://www.visualflight.co.uk/photoscenery/londonlandmarks.htm.

Many thanks Dave.

A shame that when using Terramesh for England/Wales, that the Thames in the
city is sloping at various points, so some of the bridges sink below the
water - lol - wonder if there's a fix for that?.....

My pleasure.

Can't say I know anything about that. Personally I'm using VFR Vol1 with the
bundled terrain mesh so the London Scenery pack from Visual Flight seems to
work just fine. Presumably the London Scenery pack was only produced with
VFR Vol1 and the bundled terrain mesh in mind. Perhaps it's worth asking the
authors of "Terramesh" if they've got a similar scenery update available?

The Terramesh is much better than the supplied VFR mesh, except in this
instance, so it is annoying. Obviously switching meshes is the answer when
over London, but of course the scenery loading time is very long indeed, so
it's a drag :-(
