Dang it, Sydney, after a week away I'm so far behind at work, I may never

Everyone stop asking Jay questions.
He hasn't even posted his pictures to his web site yet!
Priorities, you know.

Maybe his wife will not let him. Maybe she wants her picture posted.

But I also
envisioned uploading tracks into MSFS and/or X-Plane to be able to
"replay/fast-forward/rewind" through an entire flight.

Wow -- now THERE is something I would not have thought of doing!

I'm always amazed at what I learn here...

Makes accident investigation easier, too.

You can download the user's manual from their website.
It may answer all of your questions.

Geez, Dan, I don't know when I'll be able to play with it again (six days
away from the inn has left things pretty much a shambles...), but I'll
answer what I understand...

How many data fields can be displayed with the HSI?

Don't know.

Is the number of fields changeable?

Yes.

Does the HSI have a "set OBS and hold" feature?

Don't know.

Can approaches be quick-loaded as routes (FAF to runway only on my 295)?

Don't know.

Is there a vectors-to-final option when an approach is selected?

Don't know.

If vectors-to-final is available, is the final course line depicted on

the
moving map?

Don't know.

If you slew the map pointer to an airport or navaid, is bearing and

distance
automatically shown?

Yes.

What if I put in a flight plan from KLNA to KSUA, then KFPR to destination
KVRB.
Atc tells me to fly 5 miles to east of KSU, then proceed on course.
The GPS will direct me to KSU and unless I program the gps I will have to over
fly that airport. I can click GOTO select KFRP as the airport. Then go back to
the flight plan and reactivate, or I can search nearest slelect KFRP and hit go
to.
Or I can put my curser on KFRP then hit GOTO. Go to the flight plan and
activate it.
All of this is fine if not single pilot IFR in IMC.
Any one have any good ideas????

What difference does it make if you are single pilot IFR/IMC?
If you get rerouted, regardless of our navigation system, you are still
going to have to adapt and change the receiver to navigate.

There's a reasonable review he

This review about sums it up -- except now they've made the processor WAY
faster, so it updates instantly.

I've owned one for about year now. I love it. I used it to fly my
Bonanza to Sun n Fun with my wife. She was able to look at the GPS &
find our location on the sectional no problem.
