Default australian rotorcraft project?

As I recall, there was a drawing in a "janes all the world's aircraft" that
showed a rotorcraft that I thought was under construction in australia. It
looked like a rotor (large diameter ) that was surroundeed by a fan housing
with a forward cockpit area, vestigial wings and tail sprouting from the
rotor shroud. I seem to recall that the rotor was going to be suspended by
an "air bearing". Anyone have any idea whether the project was still born?
Thanks Pat
