Default wave flight in kansas

Sunday was a good day for soaring. I was able to soar
in clear air to 16,053 ft MSL for an altitude gain
of over 13K near Hutchinson Ks.
My question is did anyone else experience similar conditions
in the flatlands?

Sunday was good near Hinton, OK. We got to 9000+ ft
MSL right before the wind shift from west to North
came in around 2pm. There were clouds and this stopped
us from climbing any higher. I flew north and west
of the airport 30 miles or so afterwards and did not
find any wave. Lift was not as high from then on.
