Actually, youtu.be IS a valid and real link into YouTube. Try it - go to youtube and pick any random video then click the Share link to get the direct link and this is exactly what you will get. For example, here is the correct link to one of Bruno's latest gliding videos: https://youtu.be/Bcd5Z46RGRU . Nothing to fear here - other than maybe the content of that particular video, which I haven't watched.
