Rotax Falke SF25C Motor Glider Tug
Hi All
Does anybody out there have FIRST HAND experience of aerotowing with a Rotax engined SF25C Falke Motor Glider. I know these are certified for aerotowing in Europe and that a number of clubs are using them. I am interested in hearing some feedback with regards to performance, costs and operating experience. Please provide details with respect to engine power (80HP or 100HP), propeller type (fixed pitch, electric variable pitch or hydraulic variable pitch), length and surface of runway and altitude of airfield. Our club in the the process of purchasing a second hand SF25 which will be equipped for tugging. I have read the Flight Manual and Aerotow manual for these aircraft and I have no doubt that the Falke will do well for us on our 1600m tar runway at 600' ASL. However we will have to replace the prop and maybe uptrade the engine from 80HP to 100HP. It would be good to get some feedback others who have been down this road, before we learn things the hard way. Thanks Ian |
