Default 530W wind computation

Thank you for contacting Garmin International,

We are aware of this issue with the GNS 530W and are working on a
software update to correct the problem. We hope to have the update
available through your Garmin avionics dealer sometime in September
2007. We apologize for any inconvenience.

On a recent flight from KROC to KUUU (Newport RI), a great place to visit
by the way, another guy from our club and I tried to use the wind
computation function on our recently upgraded 530W. We could enter the
data easily enough, but it didn't do the calculation. It just shows 0 kts
at 000 degrees.

Has anyone else with the upgrade noticed this?

Brad
