Default Cessna 421 Down At KPWK

A Cessna 421 went down last night at KPWK (Palwaukee - metro Chicago, IL).

http://www.nbc5.com/news/6602755/detail.html

Naturally enough, the local news anchors referred to it as a "corporate jet"
all morning...

I have flown into PWK in a C182. It was night and that sucker is surrounded
by the city. If you did have a problem at night it wouldn't be good. The
area around the airport is pitch black.

They can call it a sack of potatoes and it won't change a thing.
Condolences to the families.

I see in the news this morning that the Cessna 421C that went down in
Washington state last week still has not been found. 4' deep snow and no
roads in the area.

Just curious Bill,
Which news folks called it that? I watched WLS Ch.7 when I lived there and
they were pretty good at getting it right most of the time. A good portion
of their anchors are pilots and, at times, would tactfully correct field
reporters.
Joel and Jerry sometimes showed up at C09 for lunch when I was based there.

On "another network" I would usually cringe when their "aviation expert"
would get out his model of an airliner and begin to describe the crash of a
Cessna single.

My condolences to those lost and their families,

Marty
