Default Connecticut considers "booting" aircraft

After a drunk 20-year old stole a Cessna for a joyride, the Governor of
Connecticut says he will consider installing "boots" on all aircraft to
prevent theft.

Connecticut: taking the lead on transportation security.

Are they going to install boots on all automobiles, since there are hundreds
of cars stolen by drunks?

And, what about bicycles?

"HE" is a "SHE". Gov Jody Rell.

The former "HE" is in federal prison.

She also said the now infamous Supreme Court decision allowing the
state to take private property and give it to another private
individual is "needed".

Lucky for us she's a republician. (that's a joke).

That's it from the highest taxed state in the Union where government
land grabs to the highest political donators are legal. What would our
founding fathers say? For shame.

Signed: dumbfounded in CT.

That crap (abusing emminent domain to trranfer property from one
private owner to another) has been going on for many decades now.

I'm surprised it took this long for a case to get to the USSC, my
guess is that the lower courts have simply been refusing appeals.

Ummm, Mrs. Governor....Can I have the key to the boot that you put on my
airplane...

Do politicians even think anymore or do they just talk whatever
silliness enters their minds?

While the gov puts boots on everyones airplane the city government can start
taking away the pilots home to sell to private industry for the good of the
public! That should keep them busy for awhile!!!!!!!!

They talk for the sound bite for that evening news segment.
It's not on the evening news now (here in Connecticut) so it's pretty
much a throw away comment.
Nothing will be done.
But she (the Governor) did say something, so she is covered.

For your interest all aircraft in Australia are required to have security
devices. The planes I fly have simple throttle locks - a short piece of
square tubing slotted down its length to slip over the throttle and a
padlock that secures it. Simple but very effective.
