Yes, but you'd not be a good socialist if you said that...

On 16 Oct 2006, TOliver said the following in
.

As often as I disagree with Wm, here he's on the right track. "Dear
Leader", ruling a country with no viable capability to become
economically self-supporting, has no real alternative but to come up
with schemes by which others can be forced, cajoled or convinced to
provide subsidies.

Well, there are viable options available. Just none that include leaving
Dear Leader in charge and running things.

Just how much POL does "Dear Leader" have on hand assuming he's stupid
enough to start a war.

He doesn't need much, he'll get everything he wants and more from China
just like in '50.

I rather doubt that, China has been giving the DPRK
just enough fuel and food to prevent collapse. The
China of today needs access to world markets,
ultimately they value that more highly than any links
with the DPRK.

When and if war breaks out China will supply the DPRKs with everything they
need to at the very least not loose that war, just as they did in the past.
China has face to loose, highly important in Asian societies, when their
client nation gets defeated by capitalists.
And not only that, they don't want a strong South Korea allied with Japan on
their southern border.

China will do no such thing.
It would be bad for business....
