This reminds me of Vandenberg AFB. 15K runway. We used to bounce there
from Moffett Field. We could do a full stop landing, a practice aborted
takeoff and take off without ever turning off the runway. It sure made
training flights with students go fast.

We could do the same at Utapao in Thailand. Think it was 12-15,000'.
Used to wake to the sound of waves of B-52's and KC-135's taking off.
Back in the day.

Thanks for the cool airport photos!

I think that that is the shuttle landing facility at Kennedy Space
Center not the "skid strip" at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

If I did the attached GoogleEarth launcher correctly, you should see the
shuttle landing facility (and distinctive water features) in the upper
left hand corner and the CCAFS "skid strip" in the lower right corner.
