Default Helicopter Crash

I saw this on the 6pm news last night and it seem mighty strange but a
jetranger helicopter crashed just after takeoff east of CYXX (Abbotsford)
with 1 fatality, a 22 year old female passanger!. The pilot escaped the
aircraft shortly after the crash and then fled the scene leaving his
passanger trapped inside the downed craft. Apperently the passangers
boyfriend was there to help pull her from the helicopter but she was
pronounced dead at the scene or in hospital, not sure which.

It makes me wonder what kind of a pilot would flee the scene of a accident
he/she had caused and with the recent strange happening involving
helicopters and cross boarder drug running I am left to wonder what really
happed. However there was no report of drugs onboard the copter when police
arrived.

Maybe like my freind told me the pilot was just scared, he was new and this
was his first crash and he thinks he is on the hook for the cost of the
jetranger!

My condolences to the family of the deceased passanger as she was only 22
and this was a sightseeing birthday flight!

It happens. I seem to recall a couple of airline pilots leaving the
scene after their jet ran off the end of the runway at one of the NY
airports (JFK or LaGuardia). They were gone long before the crews
were done fishing passengers out of the water. As I recall, they
headed straight for a lawyer.

The one obvious reason a pilot (or driver for that matter) might make
themselves scarce following an accident is to avoid the inevitable
alcohol test.

The pilot could run for senator from Massachussetts.
