Just because Tony keeps making me envious of great landouts
Tony keeps posting great pictures of beautiful fields he lands in. We
don't have those around here. What we DO get is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmJr2IBES70 I guess I can live with that. |

I flew at Marfa this spring and had a couple 8-10 knot thermals. It was great until I hit the 8-10 knot sink. Bravest I got all week was to get 12 miles from the airport. If I could've gotten to 15,000 any of the days I was willing to consider making a run to Alpine and trying for Gold Distance over the highway to San Angelo. I think I'd rather grind at 1 or 2 knots at 1000 AGL and actually go somewhere, at least until I get something a little higher performance so I can actually go somewhere when there is no where to land between airports. |
