Default New Years Eve

So... What are ya'll doing for New Years Eve?

My wife and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary so I think that
we are going to splurge and go to an expensive restaurant and then stay the
night at the Hilton or something...

My wife will be having a baby. Well the Doc says the baby should be here
before then but if it is not, they will induce on New Year Eve.

Thanks for the advice but this is my Wife's second, the first came after two
easy hours of labor and three pushes. Completely natural. I don't think you
can talk her into the drugs now. I guess it is that good ole army training.

Also, Congrats to you too.

FWIW this is #4 for me. Feels like old hat. (13, 9, 3, 0)

Congratulations. We induced on Thanksgiving. It's a heck of a ride.

One word of advice, especially if it's her first. When you check in,
give them your name and ask for an epidural. Don't let them talk you
into waiting.

So... What are ya'll doing for New Years Eve?

Old friends of ours are coming down from WI, and we're going to party
locally and spend the night in one of our hot tubs :-)

Oughta be fun, cuz all the college kids (35,000 students and faculty) are
GONE -- many in Florida attending the "Outback Bowl" -- leaving the local
bars open to us adults, for a change!

Why did you post this question to an aviation newsgroup?

So why do you ask this on an aviation newsgroup?

If you haven't noticed, this is a kind of virtual hangar talk place. He
thought some people might be flying somewhere, I'll bet. Just ignore the
threads that you don't like, and move on.

Life is too short. Ignore!

Why do you have a problem why my question?

I am curious as to what the people in here are doing for NY eve.

I am trying to start a small conversation that doesn't include arguing or
fighting, and could be interesting. But I see that you have ruined that
idea.

BTW, I believe that you misspelled your last name. Shouldn't it be Diarrhea?

Because it doesn't seem to be aviation related.

I am curious as to what the people in here are doing for NY eve.

I am trying to start a small conversation that doesn't include arguing or
fighting, and could be interesting.

Why do you feel this is the proper newsgroup to post such a
non-aviation related question?

Are you aware that there are charters for newsgroups that specify
acceptable topics?

From: Geoff Peck )
Subject: CHARTER: rec.aviation.piloting
Newsgroups: rec.aviation.piloting
Date: 2002-01-13 00:45:07 PST

The charter of rec.aviation.piloting is:

************************************************** *****************
* Information pertinent to pilots of general aviation aircraft
* which would not fall into one of the other non-misc
* rec.aviation groups. Topics include, but are not limited to
* flying skills, interesting sights, destinations, flight
* characteristics of aircraft, unusual situations, handling
* emergencies, working with air traffic control, international
* flights, customs and immigration, experiences with
* ground support facilities, etc.

************************************************** *****************

(This used to be posted monthly, but I haven't seen it lately.)

From my interpretation, your post failed to fall within the
rec.aviation.piloting newsgroup charter. If you disagree, I'd be
happy to hear your view.

But I see that you have ruined that idea.

How do you perceive my inquiry regarding the appropriateness of your
article for rec.aviatin.piloting as ruining it? Mine was just a
question as was yours.

BTW, I believe that you misspelled your last name. Shouldn't it be Diarrhea?

What makes you think it is misspelled? Or are you attempting an
invective retort?

Maybe it's the holidays, but it sure seems like some people here really have a bug up their
ass, lately.

Specifically what is it that causes you to state that opinion?

What the hell happened to the brotherhood(apologies to the women, I include you but a
better word escapes me at the moment) that we all share as pilots.

Nothing.

Is "So... What are ya'll doing for New Years Eve?" considered a major offense in this group, now?

It's offensive to the extent that it is non compliant with the
rec.aviation.piloting charter:

From: Geoff Peck )
Subject: CHARTER: rec.aviation.piloting
Newsgroups: rec.aviation.piloting
Date: 2002-01-13 00:45:07 PST

************************************************** *****************

I don't find Chuck's question the least bit offensive.

I find it inconsistent with the newsgroup charter, don't you?

It's not like he's wasting bandwidth on a
group that's curing cancer or saving the world from terrorism.

Is that the only time you feel it is important to respect the
newsgroup charter?

It's just flying, folks!

If we permit the content of a newsgroup to exceed the bounds of its
charter, the usenet hierarchy will soon become meaningless.

Some of you must be a real joy to meet on the tarmac...........
"Hi, how's it going?'"
"F**k you!"

I think you overreacted. The only one being offensive in this thread
is you.

Pretty standard on the rest of Usenet, but a bit unusual here in rap. It
only took till the fourth post to degenerate to personal insult.
