Default Pilot killed in experimental plane crash on Martha's Vineyard

WEST TISBURY, Mass. (AP) November 27,2005
A small experimental plane has crashed on takeoff at Martha's Vineyard
Airport, killing the pilot.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Murray says a
Lancair 360 with only the pilot on board crashed into a wooded area at
the end of a runway at about 12:10 p-m.

There's no immediate information on the cause of the crash.

Murray says the pilot died. The pilot's identity is not being
released. The F-A-A says the plane was registered in January to an Oak
Bluff resident, but it's not immediately clear if that person was
piloting the plane when it crashed.
