Default NAS Glenview IL memorial

For those who served at NAS Glenview and would like to have their
name, unit and years served displayed for those to see. It will be done
by purchasing a "Brick" with your info on it. Go to the Hangar One
Foundation website to read more about it. There address
is:www.hangarone.org.
Here is an excerpt.

Glenview Hangar One Foundation (GHOF) will combine efforts with
OliverMcMillan developers to establish a Memorial Park at the entrance
to the tower area of the new Glen Town Center, formerly Hangar One.
This area of approximately 2000 square feet will contain a fountain
and landscaping with benches and walkways in the form of a triangle.
There will be three flagpoles with Navy signal flags flying from masts
similar to those of a ship at sea. There will be a concave wall
similar to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, upon which will be displayed
insignias of squadrons and units formerly stationed at Naval Air
Station Glenview. The name of the area will be Hangar One Memorial
Park: A Monument to Freedom.

The ground will be paved with 6 x 6 inch bricks; these bricks may be
purchased by individuals or groups. The charge will be $100 for the
brick to be placed in the Memorial Park in perpetuity.
