Default Used C152 Prices out of this world.

Looking through the ASO.com listings recently I have seen C-152 in 60-70,000
range. Is this a typo or has the world gone crazy. Since when is a 152 worth
more than lets say 20k?

David

I would say the person(s) listing those aircraft at those prices are being
unrealistic. I would say $30k range for a super-clean, just rebuilt 150/152
with some nice, basic avionics (not much room for anything fancy).

Good clean 150's can be had for $15-18K every day.

Around $30k gets you a real nice IFR 152 with modern avionics.

Maybe their wives told them to put them up for sale; so they did...

Check back in, say, a year from now.

Will a year from now make them more or less.
And will that be for a 152 with 16,000 hours or more?

I thought Toyota was going to introduce some sort of
plane that would force Cessna to bring their prices down to earth.

See if it's still on sale for that price,

It never showed up; imagine that.

I was in the market for an Champ a couple years ago, just something
extra to add to the hanger. I found the Champs that had a recent
restoration were going for mid $30Ks. Maybe the C-150 is getting to the
same age? In the next few years I'll probably start looking for a C-140
to teach my boys to fly in. I've taught primary in the Mooney before
but I think the boys would enjoy the C-140.
