Default GTA Eagleville, TN Race summary from August 8-9, 2009

Man what a weekend. The Lord was good to us, down in the midsouth.
Great soaring both days. Accurate forecast, excellent weather. The
Eagleville guys put on a good time. Thank you.

Day 1:

With 4-5 knot thermals forecasted, good solid cu coverage, bases
between 5,000 to 6,000 feet, B/S factor of 10 - Michael Poe called a
300K nominal task for the A class and roughly a 150K task for the B
class. A slightly late start gave most pilots in the A class a
200-250K flight, rounding the inside of the turnpoint circles. 2
landouts from ambitous pilots stretching out their glides in an
attempt for first place in the A class. Three hour minimum time on
task for the A and 2 hour minimum time on task for the B. Most
everyone made completed the task. Glider's entered ranged from an
ASW-15B, ASW-20, ASW-24, ASW-27, Discus, LS-3 (3 of these), Libelle,
HP Shark.

Day 2:

A task from Eagleville to Lewisburg, Murfreesboro, then MAT after that
for the B class. The A class went onto Shelbyville after
Murfreesboro, then MAT (I think). No Landouts. Huge cloud streets,
one lasted for almost 20 miles to the first turnpoint. Bases lower
between 4,000-5,000 MSL (3,200-4,200 AGL) but still great cross
country flying. Some overdevelopment later in the day between
Eagleville and Murfreesboro. Ironically, under the OD, it was some of
the best lift for the day.

Here's a youtube video to watch of the day. Music and words added.
