Default EAA Patches?

We're gearing up for construction of our new "Oshkosh Suite" (at our
aviation theme-suite hotel), and as part of the effort we're
sorting/framing/shadow-boxing 25 years of personal Oshkosh memorabilia.

An important centerpiece for the suite will be a montage of all the
Oshkosh EAA sew-on patches. Our personal collection of patches is sewn
on to our soft-sided luggage (which we take everywhere), and I'm not
about to cut 'em off! ;-)

We were able to buy the 1982, '83, '86, '87, '88, '90, '91, '94, '95,
and '96 patches at OSH this year, but we're obviously missing a bunch
of years. I think an Oshkosh Suite deserves a complete collection of
patches!

Anyone out there care to part with their old patches? They'll be on
display for your fellow aviators to enjoy for many years to come, and
I'll be glad to pay a reasonable price for them.

Thanks!

Don't forget Ebay. Lots of patches show up there.

Jay,
I inherited several boxes of stuff for former Deceased members of
Chapter 111, which is collecting on my porch. I will check through to
see if there are any patches you might be interested in. We have ended
up with several collections of Sport Aviation mags but since the CD's
are available there is little interest. There are boxes of stuff and I
will check through.

If you donate patches from deceased members, does there ghost
go with them? This would make for an interesting room to stay in.

Thanks, Dean! Any patches, tags, etc. would be appreciated!

We've got something like 25 pieces of artwork at the frame-shop now for
this suite, which sounds like a lot -- but it's a 2-bedroom, 650 sq ft
unit (full kitchen, jacuzzi hot tub, etc.) -- so we've got a LOT of
walls to cover.

This will be our 17th aviation theme suite, and will be a fun one to
put together, simply because OSH is so meaningful for Mary and me.
2007 will be our "Silver Anniversary" at OSH (25 years in a row!),
which is really quite amazing when you think about everything that has
happened in our lives.

In fact, I think it's safe to say that Oshkosh has been the single most
unifying factor that has run throughout our lives. Through marriage,
births of children, deaths, moving several times, starting three
businesses (and closing two of them), and all the "normal" craziness of
life, we have never, ever let ANYTHING come between us and Oshkosh.
Some years it was only a day or two, others the whole week -- but OSH
is something that we start dreaming about in January, and just can't
live without in July and August!

Twenty five years of memories are going into this one. And I'll be
proud to add any patches of members who have "Gone West"...

But it's not January, yet, so stop dreaming!

Bfg

That deserves an additional, "Just Kidding!"

I know -- but this sudden dive in temperature (from a balmy 64 F, to 14
F, in just 48 hours) has got me pining for those glorious, God-awful
days at OSH when you simply can't imagine wearing clothes, cuz it's so
damned hot!

:-)

On days like this, it's hard to believe that we ever stood outside,
shirtless (well, okay, the *guys* were shirtless), in a driving
rainstorm -- and weren't cold.

You gonna make it back to OSH in '07?

Don't know for sure, but am leaning towards it. I will be going independent,
and camping, perhaps with the Vintage folks, if they will have me! g

Margy says bring it on, at least she did, one time.
