Default InReach: does it have a "daily" track display?

There's a big irritation caused by the Spot web page map where your
track is displayed: the new track ("today's") overlaps with the older
portion of the previous day's track.

That happens because you can not select a "daily" display, where only
today's track shows; instead, the smallest time period is "24 hours".

Does anybody know if InReach map display has a "daily" option?

Hi Eric,

Good question. The answer is yes. You can try it yourself.

There are a few track points on my map from Minneapolis and Chicago. You
may need to zoom out and move the map to Minneapolis to see a drive trace.
The points in Chicago were all in one location - at the Chicagoland Glider
Council Soaring Seminar. You may notice that Frank Paynter's name is
showing instead of mine. That is because he's going to use mine at the
Seniors contest.

Note that is you click on a track point, you get the option to "Locate"
(ping its position) or send a "Message" to the user's smartphone through the
inReach. Those features can be enabled or disabled. The ping feature works
even if the unit is not in tracking mode - which would be very useful in an
emergency - the unit only needs to be turned on.

At the top, click on "Map Filters" and select from a variety of display
options for date and time.

One thing that I like is that tracks stay on the site for months. I don't
think SPOT did that.

On a related note, I just added a new optional accessory to my DeLorme
inReach page. It an a 12V power adapter. The bummer is that it replaces
the batteries, so if the 12V power source is lost, the unit can't fall back
onto the internal batteries. That would be a bummer in a crash situation.
If you use the power adapter you need to bring along 2 AA batteries and the
battery cover. The cool feature is that if you have an aviation data plan
the inReach can be setup to turn-on automatically when 12V power is applied.
That would help avoid accidentally forgetting to turn the unit on before
flight. You can see details he

Excellent! My wife's major complaint about Spot, so I just ordered an
InReach.
