If anyone's interested the Nimrod MRA4 had it's maiden flight today.

Unless they're going to be upgrading the R1 Sigint variant then yes it is.
Largely a completely new aircraft though. Only the fuselage tube remains
from the previous MR2 version.

Historically, that must mean it's just about time to cancel the whole
project. Oh wait, first they need to spend several hundred million
pounds each to upgrade all the a/c, then cancel the project so they can
use the airframes for fire fighting/battle damage repair trainers.
