From the lost files.
Made smaller copies and didn't back up and now all teh originals are gone.

its a bummer no matter how much you back up you can get caught out , i
really went mad when my ext hard drive was on when my laptop booted up , ms
then decided to check the ext hd for any errors whilst i wasn't lookin. It
then corrupted all my pics taken with a canon camera on the ext hd - left
the sony ones alone ?? . I can see the thumbnail but when i open up the pic
goes grey for most of the pic. gurrrr!
Spoke to the JPEG group and they confirmed it can happen now and again . so
an extra warning don't have your ext hd on when your pc boots up
