IFR Accelerated Training in my COZY MKIV
Folks:
So after a year of dithering, I finally got my Instrument Ticket by taking an accelerated instrument training course with Bill Zaleski, out of Schenectady, NY. I've written up my experiences at: http://www.cozybuilders.org/2005_Instrument_Training/ Bill taught me in MY experimental airplane, in ACTUAL conditions. It was a great experience. The examiner also gave me the checkride in MY experimental airplane (although on a clear blue VFR day). All feedback, questions, comments and flames are welcome! :-). -- Marc J. Marc, Thank you for documenting your IFR training experience. We flew to Schenecdaty last Sunday to check out Bill's program and took a demo flight. He told us a bit about your training and showed a picture of your plane. We had also scheduled a 'demo' session with Doug Stewart (East Coast IFR Training trip - based in Columbia, NY) later this month for comparison purpose. We have had only limited experience with both instructors but are impressed by both. I am confident that we will get our ratings and good training from either of them. The East Coast trip will give us mountain flying and IFR cross country experience but will not allow as much approach practices as from one location. We will weigh all the pros/cons and make a decision by the end of the month. I have bookmarked your website and will 'repeat' your flying experience in flight simulations to have a feel of the training pace. Thank you again. Hai Longworth |
