Interesting description! Do you happen to have an igc file for this
flight? Couldn't find anything on OLC, yet.

I agree. I was able once in a G109, to do ridge soaring right there at
this cliff at the end of the downwind.

We were going to a short hop to Boulder city, and hit the wave on the
other side of this hill. Had to open the speedbrakes right away, as we
were getting close to the floor of the class B with no clearance.

I can attest to the fantastic ridge/wave conditions that exist there!

PS: We actually started next to Crystal, CA. Hit the wave there and
climbed to 16,000. Headed toward Barstow with a 100 Kts groundspeed.
It felt like flying in a single engine!

No. 63JJ is a working/training ship. No recording on board. Pocket
GPS. Phil took lots of alt/vario pics for the Brits. Will post on the
blog and soaringcenter.net
