Default Solo Celebrations

I'm a little curious about student solo celebrations at other
clubs ... I had my shirt tail trimmed on my first solo flight quite
few years ago ... but I seem to notice a higher frequency of wet-
downs these days ... just wondering if it is a widespread trend.
Anyway, here is a neat photo of a recent solo 'celebration' at our
club ...

Andy Carazo - Solo - 10/26/2008 - It is a good thing that Andy, a
native of Puberty Rico where the water is always warm,*jumped out
of*helicopters in the Navy as a rescue swimmer in places where the
water was neither warm or friendly. Andy get the presidential
treatment as Bob Lacovara (PGC President) and a helper administer the
rite of passage. Congrats, Andy !!! (Andy's photos/reporting by
Fitzpatrick)

The LVVSA tradition is a bucket of water (iced down in summer months,
sometimes) and the shirt tail (really the whole back of the shirt!)
cut. Many solo students opt to have their shirt-tail documentation
displayed in the clubhouse.
