Default 30th Annual CCSC Soaring Contest

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA SOARING CLUB

Dear Pilot,

You are cordially invited to attend our 30th Annual CCSC Soaring Contest at
the Avenal Gliderport.
Practice day is Wednesday, April 28. The contest will run from April 29
through May 2. Classes are
Standard, 15 Meter, 18 Meter, Open, and Sport. Scoring is handicapped so any
ship can compete.

We have moved the contest dates forward again this year in order to give the
pilots who will be flying in the 15 Meter Nationals, later in May at
Mifflin, to have the opportunity fly also in this contest.

The CCSC Spring contest has long been the kickoff event of season. One of
the reasons for the
popularity of our contest is the vast numbers of flat open fields providing
safe land outs for those just getting the winter kinks out of their soaring
for the first time this season.

This is a low-key, no pressure contest where new contest pilots can gain
experience while flying with the very best competitors in the West. It is a
good place to make friends while you hone your skill in a safe environment,
in conditions sometimes surprisingly strong.

A hot meal will again be prepared each day prior to the launch for those
wishing to partake. This proved to be a very popular again last year.

So please go to our web site at: http://www.soaravenal.com/, click on "2004
Spring Contest" on the left side of the page, fill in you application and
send it in. If you have not flown in a contest yet, try this one first, you
will be amazed at how much fun it is, and how much you will learn in the
process.

Looking forward to seeing you at Avenal this spring.

Mario
