Default Airshow Chairs, Oshkosh, And Other Free Stuff

Home from Alaska, we are. Can't afford two multi-AMU trips in a year, so
we're going to have to miss Oshkosh this year. First time in 33 years.
Damn.

At any rate, our "airshow chairs" (fold-ups that collapse into a small
diameter carry bag for airplane transport) are up for grabs. They are
recliners that have little footrests that pop out and prop your body at
about a 45° angle, just right for watching the afternoon airshow.

We bought them at Oshkosh ten years ago and haven't been without them since.
They cost us a pretty penny (actually, about 5000 pretty pennies each) and
are in mint condition.

Free to the first taker. A couple of conditions:

1. You pay actual USPO mailing charges to get them. I'm guessing somewhere
around $20 the pair to the CONUS.

2. You have to be going to Oshkosh this year.

3. If you don't take them to Oshkosh in subsequent years, you make this
offer FREE to other people in this ng.

God forbid.

Because I've got three rooms full of "save it, you might need it" around
here and these are really specialty items meant for laying nearly prone, or
at least at a 45. We have multiuse foldup chairs that might get me a crick
in the neck at airshows but are much better for slouching around a cold one
at the end of a long day.

If I am the first, I'll take them to Oshkosh and abide by the rules.

I'm very unhappy that you will not be there. I've not missed any of
your forums. Earl

Hey, Montblack ... since you are the designated "heavy hauler", I'll be
happy to donate them to the camping cause if you will accept them and let
them be used first come, first served.

No problem with free shipping if you will give me a USPO mailing addy. My
pleasure to add to the Oshkosh camping "experience".

Jim

E-mail sent.
Thank you.

Montblack
I think "heavy hauler" was referring to the minivan's load ...?

Montblack, I would like to suggest that we set up those chairs in our
traditional conversational semi-circle (that always assembles following
dinner), and leave them conspicuously unoccupied, so that Jim & Gail
will at least be there with us in spirit.

Once properly assembled in the aforementioned semi-circle, a solemn
toast shall be made in the general direction of Grass Valley, CA, after
which this arrangement will be maintained as a shrine throughout
AirVenture.

Or, barring all that, we can always use them to keep more beer handy...

:-)

Jim, it ain't gonna be the same without you guys. Hope to see ya next
year!

Paul, do you have a source for male and female blow up dolls that can be
dressed up and set in the chairs. Remember to put a tie on Jim's avatar.
