Default Custom Planes type?

In the Oct. Custom Planes article on VW crackshafts, it seems that the
text and the chart do not agree. The text says that 1 and 4 are the
paired cylinders. According to the chart, though (based on the
description of 'paired' in the text), 1 and 3 should be paired.

Am I having a premature senior moment, or did someone else notice that
too?
