Default Invitation to join a Google Groups only aviation group

As an _experiment_, I have created a Google Groups only (i.e. non-Usenet)
group that is intended to provide a somewhat more controlled environment
than this group. The URL for the group is he

http://groups.google.com/group/rec_aviation_piloting

I've posted a couple messages there that attempt to provide a brief
personal background and policy summary. I already know that there will be
objections (many reasonable) but I'm not attempting to establish an ideal
forum - just one I hope is a tad bit better than this one has become.

Some Advantages of the new group:
1) Not country specific.
2) While this is subjective, Google Groups appears to have a better
interface than the web forums that use vBulletin(R).
3) Archives can be searched using Google's infamous search technology.
4) Option of posting and receiving using e-mail (i.e. may be treated as an
e-mail list.)
5) In theory nontextual material can be uploaded. (I've temporarily got
this set to only allow designated managers to do this until I determine if
it is a good idea.)
6) Allows designation of additional group managers so management is
distributed.

Some Disadvantages:
1) While this is subjective, the interface still isn't as good as many
Usenet threaded newsgroup readers.
2) You have to create an account on Google Groups.
3) I've set it up with defaults that would tend to let in more spam and
vitriol in favor of faster and freer posting. This can always be adjusted
as experience is gained, though.
4) For the moment, I'm "the man."
5) If it fails to attract some critical mass of interest, I will be
removing it. Worse, I have only a subjective feel for how I would make that
decision when the time comes in two weeks.
