1. He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.

Sort of leans toward the Bush doctrine and faults Clinton I would
suppose.

Bu$h insisted on war, before even the most basic of diplomatic
options were tried.

Kind of over-looking facts here aren't we? Thirteen UN resolutions
declaring Saddam in violation of the Desert Storm agreement. Numerous
appeals to the UN from everyone from the President down. Repeated
warnings that compliance was necessary. Cooperation with the
oil-for-food program. etc. etc.

Bu$h wanted war with Iraq and didn't let FACTS
stand in his way. When UN inspectors disagreed with him, he threw
them out of the country.

Your pronouns seem to relate to Bush, but in fact describe Saddam.
Nice use of language to fit an agenda.

2. He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior
forces.

See the Ranger motto regarding "kill them all and let God sort them
out."

George Bu$h ridiculously underestimated the resolve of the Iraqi
people. Now Amerika is stuck in am ever-worsening quagmire. General
Shinseki was right, but Bu$h insulted him and fired him instead of
listening to him.

The resolve dissolved on the road to Baghdad within hours of the
commencement of hostilities. The "quagmire" reference to the
Halberstam book on Vietnam fails when it is put against chronology---a
"quagmire" wasn't applicable until more than six years into that war
and then only after several cycles of clearly indecisive policy
wavering by the LBJ/McNamara administration. Where just one year into
Iraq with an interim government established, a basic Constitution
signed and a sovereignty turn-over scheduled in 75 days.

Shinseki was a twit, more into berets and political posturing than
strategic decisions. More numbers aren't necessary. Continued resolve
is.

3. He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout
all the ranks.

Amerika's troops in Iraq don't know what the **** is going on.

Without having been there, you are on shaky ground in asserting. Most
communication indicates a clear understanding of the mission and the
reason for it.

4. He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy
unprepared.

The Iraqis were obviously well prepared for Bu$h's invasion. It is
now Bu$h that has been caught unprepared.

That sure doesn't look like the total collapse of the Iraqi army, the
Republican Guard and the Ba'athist regime that I observed.

5. He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with
by his sovereign.

The Iraqis don't even have a sovereign anymore, but Bu$h has quite a
few financial interests to answer to. Time is on the side of the
Iraqis.

Time (the magazine) might be, but time on the calendar will inevitably
lead to a democracy and stable free-market economy.

The Empire is doomed.

Bull****!
