This is an announcement of a new free web-based viewer for IGC files- you
can find it at http://http://glidingweb.org/IgcWebview/. It was developed
in the UK by Alistair M Green and Richard Brisbourne.

It's designed to work on just about any browser or operating system down to
Android phones- just as long as you have an internet connection.

We'd love to get some feedback, also hear from any javascript/php
developers who might want to get involved (techies note- we're on GitHub).
Preferred contact is the e-mail at the bottom of the help page.

You appear to have accidentally omitted that github link...

A search for 'igcwebview' does not find it.

Looks useful.

On my PC Chrome 41.0.2272.101 (64-bit) doesn't seem to be too happy when loading IGC files (it hangs the browser). Firefox 36.0.4 was fine though.

Nice to have featu

Hello,

I'm the co-author of the IGC viewer.

Chrome 47 is working fine for me on 64-bit Windows 7. Does it make a
difference if you upgrade to the latest version of Chrome? Is there a
specific file which causes the crash?

Regarding GitHub links: We are planning to set up a new GitHub repository
soon. The project started off he

https://github.com/alistairmgreen/jsigc

The original version did not need any server-side code. It was (and still
is) hosted on GitHub Pages:
https://alistairmgreen.github.io/jsigc/

Richard Brisbourne then added support for airspace and task editing, which
requires a database on the server side. The version which is now up on
glidingweb.org comes from the "worldtp" branch in his repository:

https://github.com/brisbori/jsigc

Our plan is to move this version into the "master" branch of a new, jointly
owned repository on GitHub.

The source code for the IGC viewer is now available from:
https://github.com/GlidingWeb/IGCWebView

There is also an issue tracker (currently empty) which can be used to
report bugs:

https://github.com/GlidingWeb/IGCWebView/issues

One other point worth mentioning: Unlike some other online IGC viewers,
this one does not require your logger trace to be uploaded to the server.
The file is read using client side code, which is faster and offers greater
privacy.

Unfortunately, iPhone and iPad users are out of luck because iOS does not
allow the web browser to access files created by other apps.

Works fine on my MacBook Pro running Safari.

If you're taking requests, I wouldn't mind seeing something like the Statistics page on SeeYou. Stuff like % time circling, % circling left and right, average vario turning both ways, etc. Now that I have a Mac I need to borrow a PC to get that info with SeeYou.

Thanks for providing this!

Parallels and a copy of windows let me run SeeYou on my Mac. Still the best thing out there for 3D playback and analyzing multiple flights.

This viewer looks nice and works well on my Mac.
