Default Spectra winch rope

Don't overlook the advantages afforded by the incredible lightness of
this new type of rope. Mass and ground friction of comparable towline
diameters are reduced a whopping 80 percent. Ground run distances for
heavy two-placers are thus reduced 25 percent and the ship gets into the
air in 2.5 seconds as opposed to 3.2 seconds, resulting in a 30 percent
greater initial acceleration. Total power requirements are virtually the
same at 130 HP. YMMV depending on towline length and drum diameter.

BJ

And to all a good night!
