Default Saturday, December 7 Ridge Day

Looks like a gentle ridge day for the northern part of the ridge system. Limited to PA/NJ/NY from the looks of the GFS model runs. Winds are actually better on Friday, but as of now looks like it stays wet for most of the day.

Whoops - meant to post this to the Appalachian Mountain Soaring group. In case anyone was wondering what "ridge" this is referring to.

Today's a wave day in New Mexico. Too bad the winds are forecast to gust up
to 60 mph on the ground...

I'm the duty tow pilot today but we've already cancelled.

With 60mph winds on the ground you could probably just anchor a runway length worth of rope/cable and self launch. New endorsement might be required for that. Self-Ground Launch.

Those winds ripped through central California yesterday and even at the coast we had stacked lennies.

That'd be pretty cool! Do we need an endorsement for gravity launch like
they do in Poland?

Winds aloft yesterday were up to about 125 kts. Today it's just snowing
like crazy. Looks like I won't be towing again...
