Default Blanik L-13 tow out gear

So as not to redesign the wheel, has anybody made tow out gear for a
Blanik L-13. My tie down is at the opposite end of the runway from
the normal launch end and I would like to use something other than a
rope and wing walker. I would appreciate any descriptions, plans,
drawings or photos of systems out there.

Thanks in advance.

Find a good design and I'll help you build it.

We made a complete transport trailer; you can see it he

http://www.lvzc.be/gallery2/main.php...serialNumber=1

The lateral arms could be lowered and raised, and the platform could
be inclined until the back was resting on the ground, without
unhitching the trailer. A hand-powered winch towed the glider up the
incline.

It worked well, even too well: once upon a time, a driver forgot he
was towing, drove too fast, and the Blanik began flying at the end of
the very short winch cable. It was damaged when coming down... It
could be used for all the gliders of our club fleet.

It was sold when we went for 100% plastic.

The Permian Soaring Club at Odessa, TX has a wings-level ground
transporter for their Blanik L-13.
See a very small photo of it on their club listing at www.ssa.org
Click on "Where To Fly" / Texas.
Contact the club for more photos / design details.
I'd pull it backwards rather than forwards . . .

Credit should be given to Morris Kline who designed a similar, elegant
transporter for his 1-26 back circa 1960.

Look at the Pokweni website:
www.pokweni.org/home_e.htm
go to the club page and scroll down to SuKu, which is their Blanik tow
gear.
..Jim
The SuKu dates back to the Bitterwasser era when the Club had its home
there. This piece of marvellous engineering is used to transport
gliders from the hangar to the start, in our case the Blanik L13. The
SuKu is pulled by the "Schrubber". The name SuKu is derived from Super
Kuller.
