Default Skybolt Owner Buys the Farm

It was last Sunday morning. A local firefighter had brought out his
Steen Skybolt for joyrides for friends and family at Altus Quartz Mountain.

The line people saw the take off south, and minutes later at the
midfield position on downwind they saw the Skybolt in flames on the
ground. The owner perished, and so did his teenage passenger.

Pity...

This was a exceptionally bad week for experimentals...

In another incident:

"Aircraft heard metal scraping and aborted landing, going
around, then landed successfully with gear down."
