Default Hello from New Mexico

Hi all. I have started building a larger plane but due to health issues at age 71 I though maybe I should rachet it down some. I have only flown c 172's and a Piper Warrior. So I bought the plans for the Sands and am wondering if I should make the tube fuselage or the wood one. My skills are wood working and am a guitar builder as well. This looks like a fun glider to fly around the beautiful New Mexico landscape... thanks

I would go with the wood. Lighter and easier to work with especially since you are already a woodworker.

You might want to take a look at the Vintage Sailplane Association. There are VSA members who learned to fly in these way back when (I know a few).
