(EXCERPT) Stars and Stripes European edition, Tuesday, August 19, 2003

AVIANO, Italy – An airman assigned to Aviano Air Base was killed early
Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident.

Airman Daphne Webb, a vehicle maintenance apprentice with the 31st
Logistics Readiness Squadron, was pronounced dead at the scene by
Italian and American personnel.

The accident, which took place on a road on the edge of the city that
connects the two main military compounds in Aviano, is still under
investigation.

A memorial service will be held 8 a.m. Thursday at the base’s Hangar
4.
