Default Oktorberfest 2012 Chilhowee Style

Oct. 12-14, 2012

Chilhowee Oktoberfest is always an enjoyable flying and social event. You are invited to be a part of our excitement as we meet to relive the highs of the season, appreciate our racing sailplanes, play with vintage gliders, fly the ridge, and drink in the breathtaking backdrop of autumn in the Tennessee Appalachians.

FOOD:
Friday Night – Smoked Chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, leafy green salad, and homemade banana pudding for dessert. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM..

Saturday Night – Tender marinated flank steak, homemade baked macaroni & cheese, steamed fresh broccoli, leafy green salad, and cheesecake with raspberry sauce for dessert. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM. Both evenings there will be plenty of sweet or unsweet tea, water, and coffee - or bring a favorite beverage of your own.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Friday Night – This is our annual awards banquet. Scheduled presentations include TN records, GTA racing awards, and Chilhowee volunteer recognition.. After the awards presentations we will move the party to the clubhouse and bonfire at the clubhouse fire ring. Hot chocolate, cider and s’mores supplies will be provided. In keeping with longstanding Chilhowee tradition, Goofy’s Glider and Dawn Flight will be shown.

Saturday Night – The TN Hustlers explore areas of American music that listeners can easily access and fall in love with. This 5 man jug band from St.. Elmo, Tennessee perform with an energy and enthusiasm that wallups the senses. Truly unique. Immediately following dinner, and between musical sets, competitive story teller Edith Smith, with a little help from Gilly will entertain us with some of her favorite stories.

PRICES:
Dinners – The price for each dinner is $18. Pay for your dinners in advance with your reservation or at the registration table when you pick up your meal tickets. All Oktoberfest pilot participants may also charge meals and flying expenses to their event accounts to be paid before leaving.

Breakfast – The pancake breakfast US Team fundraiser will be on a donation basis with a suggested donation of $10 per person. All proceeds from this year’s breakfast will go to support the US Team in Argentina, particularly the standard class pilots who are facing transport and shipping costs. Reservations for breakfast are appreciated but not required, and all donations will be collected Sunday morning at the serving line.

Registration – There will be an event fee charged to help cover extra costs involved in running Oktoberfest, it is $15 per flying pilot, and $5 for non pilots.

You are responsible to pay for any dinner ordered unless we receive a cancellation notice in time to sell it to someone else. Since we must have a firm dinner count for our caterer to order sufficient food, I must have your reservations no later than Sunday, October 7. Please fill out the online registration form: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MY2HBYR

We look forward to having you join us for great flying, camaraderie, food, and music.
