Default Shinn brake linings - bonding vice riveting

Apparently the preferred way to bond brake linings in Shinn brakes is
to use rivets. I got my a/c with the linings epoxied(?)in place.
1. Is one fastening method prefered over the other?
2. Can I use heat to remove the current linings?
3. Any particular epoxy to use? Any danger of the lining coming
unbonded because of heat generated during braking? - Mike
