Default FAA plane crash records?

A friend of mine lost both parents in a plane crash when their Cessna went
down in 1976 or 1977. Nobody ever says a word about what happened. Any idea
where I could research the results of the accident investigation?

Thanks!

Larry

Go to the NTSB accident database. Here is a link to a listing sorted by
month.

http://www2.ntsb.gov/ntsb/month.asp

Scroll down to the year and month and click away.

Stuff that old may not have much "useful" data on it for what you are
looking for.

My dad ditched a Twin Beech (Beech 18) in 1977-78 or so, and while I
found the report, it consisted of a GIF image of one page that had
mostly registration/report writers data and practically nothing of a
"factual" narrative.
