Default Yet another case of AIDS

from today's AvWeb...

A Bad Week For Ex-Boeing CEO ... But With A Couple Million For Solace
Boeing CEO Harry Stonecipher has been booted from the company for
breaking its code of conduct by having an affair with a female executive
at the company ... but he still is parachuting away with more than $2
million. Last Thursday, Boeing told the Securities and Exchange
Commission that Stonecipher would be paid the $2.1 million bonus he
earned in 2004, and will continue to collect pay and benefits through
his official retirement date of April 1, at an annual rate of $1.5
million. He might not get to keep it all, though. Also on Thursday, his
wife of 50 years filed for divorce, asking the court to grant her an
"equitable share" of the couple's property. Both are 68 years old. No
word yet from Boeing on who will take over the CEO slot.

Michael Eisner's available in October, maybe sooner.

The amazing thing about Eisner isn't that he lies to people, but that he,
time and again, gets very smart people to believe him, and trust him - even
though everyone knows Eisner's reputation. These same people are usually
outraged (later) that they were lied to and decieved by Eisner.

Yeah, Boeing might not be a bad fit.

I guess if you're going to screw around and be president, it's best to
be president of, let's see, not Boeing. . .

not your local school board.

Oh yeah.

Here's a little more information:

Harry Stonecipher, the chief executive fired by BOEING CO. for
having an affair with another executive, will remain an
employee of the company and receive an executive salary until
he retires April 1, the company said on Thursday. Stonecipher,
Boeing's second CEO in 15 months, will be paid a salary at an
annual rate of $1.5 million per year and receive an annual
incentive of $2.1 million for 2004, the company said in a
filing with the SEC. Stonecipher will also continue to receive
perks such as use of a company car and financial counseling
until his retirement, although he will no longer be able to use
the company's aircraft unless approved by the non-executive
chairman. Stonecipher will continue to accrue pension benefits
until his retirement date and after that, receive full
retirement benefits.

So it's forbidden for a CEO to have a life. What a wonderful world.

Apparently it's company policy not to permit such relationships
between supervisors and those whom they supervise to avert sexual
harassment charges.
