They said I could land and pick up the clearance on the ground but that they would not issue the clearance in the air. Perhaps this is standard operating procedure for LA Approach? Do some areas just consider themselves too special to have to issue airborne clearances? -Robert |

No reason at all why it couldn't be issued in the air. |
