Default KT78A

I'm installing a GTX 330 in my Archer in a couple of weeks so the KT78A will be
removed. The shop doing the work is offering me $200 but it seems to me that
it is worth more than that. Comments welcome.

Eastern Avionics sells reconditioned transponders at
http://www.avionix.com/xpndr.html so you could get an idea from that.

If it is on freq, on power and passes the standard tests for sensitivity,
mode C, etc. it's worth more than $200, but if it fails any of the tests or
doesn't put out the min power, $200 is generous. Take it to another shop and
have them put it on the bench...
