She looks as if she has eaten a little too much rich food -- at donors'
expense.

Im doing this as a part-time job, OConnor*said in response. I dont
have $90,000 to give to my campaign. Im a single woman who works. Im
probably your average Santa Monican. I do the public service on the
Metro Board. I find out that over a 10-year-period there were $4,000
worth, an average of $400 a year, of mistakes made and I didnt have a
professional treasurer but now I have a professional treasurer. - See

HUH? "jgrove", Richard Daley and she belong in the same corrupt, slimy
league.

But the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn. and the National Business Aviation Assn. are in a spending league of their own:

"According to campaign disclosure statements, Measure D has raised about $824,000 as of Oct. 22, mostly from aviation-related interests, aircraft owners, businesses and pilots, including actor Harrison Ford, who stores his aircraft at the airport and donated $25,887.

"Measure D is designed to seize control of the airport from the City Council and the community," said John Fairweather, an anti-airport activist and LC supporter. "We own the land. The airport only serves a fraction of the people."

Remember that Van Nuys and Ventura Co. are only 15 minutes away !!

http://www.aopa.org/News-and-Video/A...n-Santa-Monica

"An AOPA-supported initiative known as Measure D would have required voter approval before the city could make airport land available for nonaviation uses or close or partially close the airport. It also would have required the city to continue to operate the airport "in a manner that supports its aviation purposes" and stipulates that the city cannot impose new restrictions that would "inhibit the sale of fuel or the full use of aviation facilities."

Only 43 percent of voters cast ballots in favor of Measure D. Santa Monicans for Open and Honest Development Decisions, which sponsored Measure D, submitted more than 15,500 signatures to the Santa Monica city clerk in June to get the measure placed on the ballot."

"A city-sponsored ballot initiative has passed in Santa Monica, California. Measure LC, which leaves the future of Santa Monica Municipal Airport (SMO) in the hands of the city council, passed with 59 percent of voters saying "yes" with 90 percent of precincts reporting. At the same time, voters rejected a separate AOPA-supported measure that would have given control of the airport's future to voters." Democracy, **** Yeah !!
