Um,

Is this an international discussion list, or is it
the society page from a small-town newspaper?

Inquiring minds wanna know.

It's actually a local node of the international discussion list,
populated primarily by frustrated Northeastern (US) pilots facing 4
months of non-flyable weather. Don't worry, it will only get worse...
Eagerly awaiting the first salvo in the annual "PW-5s are the reason
for the downfall of western civilization as we know it" campaign.

From beautiful downtown Jersey City New Jersey, where it's cold and

raining - again.

Dave was the product of Mr. and Mrs. Michaud (well, let's at least
assume so) and undergraduate psych simply does not give me the
background to understand Dave more then that. So I guess he was a
'complete' product when he arrived ... with official paperwork, like
Bobby Templin, that certified he was cured and ready to take back his
place in society.

Thanks for all of you who have jumped to my support both on RAS and
privately......!
You fine comments are certainly appreciated....it does one's heart good
to hear that what I've done has been appreciated...
but please, before coming down on "kilo kilo" too hard, I know his
comment was in gist and probably should have said so, but it wasn't
malicious.....KK is actually a very good customer and ....I hope also a
friend as well. KK has called and emailed me personally to be sure I
knew, what was, as I suspected not meant to be inflammatory and that his
comments were not taken wrong...
Again, my most appreciated and heartfelt thanks go out to all who have
commented....
best regards

After reading your post I can see that you are not a member of that
"trustworthy" group, whatever that means in the context of such a poll.
Character, good judgment and restraint are required, I would expect.

Since you don't bother to use your real name here and Tim does, a point
goes to Tim. Since Tim doesn't disparage others on an open forum, but
you do, that's another point for Tim. Tim provides a service to the
soaring community far beyond any that I see you doing, so you lose
again.

Tell you what, KK, let me know what business you're in and I guarantee
I'll not darken your door with money in my hand. But I do intend to do
business again with Tim Mara.

Hey Kilo Kilo - if this is the KK I know, it feels like Blairstown all
over
again. Thick skins required for entry.

Tim, I never got to know you but we met up on Harris Hill when you were
first starting the business out. Fact is you sold me some tape or
something
that didn't work that well in my opinion but you were selling the heck out
of it. Good job! The key is, you stuck with it and became one of the key
guys in soaring supplies. Thanks!

Tim is blessed ... he is a great guy as we all know and has friends
across the country ... many who probably never met him. He used to go
to a couple of meets a season .... competing or selling stuff ... and
it was always great to hang with Tim. However, over the last few
years, he has become something of a hermit ... running his business 14
x 7 from his basement office ... never going to meets anymore. He
really has sounded burnt-out and borderline bitter the last few times I
have talked with him ... I hoped my trolling would elicit some
supportive comments to remind him how much he is liked in the community
... that he should get out ... go to a few meets next season ... and
meet old and new friends again. Merry Xmas, Tim.

Same here. I just wanna remind the Neds in the local
node that they should give a nod to the international
list by noting that they don't need to know all this
-- but you knowed that.

KK, it would seem that apologies are in order. So, I apologize for
taking your bait and rising to defend ol' Tim. Though I was not alone,
I may have been a little too aggressive. Had I known of the justly won
reputation of the stalwarts from ACA, I would have been a lot more
suspicious of such a troll.

By the time I've been around here for ten years as you have, maybe
I'll be a little more circumspect -- but then again, probably not.

Think locally, talk globally. It's the American way!

Who gave write permission to these foreigners anyway?

Cheers!

Before this thread gets too far off topic...let me just chime in to say -

KK, in a strange way, I'm glad you made that original post. However you
intended it, it doesn't really matter, but gives us all a chance to give Tim a
MUCH deserved "thank you" for the many, many years of GREAT service.

THANK YOU TIM!! Your service is Superb and Very much appreciated.
