Default Region 9 North Competition Update

Race fans it is just 2 months till the 2nd annual Region 9 North in
Logan Utah. The contest is scheduled for Monday July 19th through
Saturday 24th. Official practice day is July 18th with tows available
prior to these dates.

As of May 18, 2010 there are 22 pilot registered that include a great
mix of local pilots, pilots who attended last year and new names and
faces. The facilities at Logan can easily support fifty pilots.
Furthermore, the area is great for aspiring, up-and-coming, and
experienced competition pilots with ridge, thermal and wave
conditions.
Open valley's, airports and easily landable fields abound.

Five classes are planned, sport, standard, 15 meter, 18 meter and open
based on participation. The FAI classes are approved for water
ballast and like last year we will have plenty of fill stations.

Micki and Charlie Minner will be contest manager and director
respectively. A great t-shirt has been designed and will soon be
printed.

Local pilot and 'Hollywood wannabe producer' Bruno Vassel made the
following videos highlighting the flying at Logan

2009 Logan contest

Please go to the SSA site and register so we can get an accurate count
of pilots. If you have any questions feel free to ask questions here
or contact myself or Tim Taylor (2009 15 meter class winner).

Logan, Utah is a great location for soaring and family activities with
reasonably priced amenities. There are six National Parks within 3 to
6 hour drive and many county and states parks within an hour.

A couple of web sites that can help you get familiar with town of
Logan and the Cache Valley

Logan is located http://www.loganutah.org/index.cfm - Official web
site for the city of Logan

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Logan!
